Barry Crabtree began his Financial Planning career in 1986 and worked for a large independent Securities dealer before establishing The Money People in 1990.
The Money People merged their operations with Financial Advisory Services Pty Ltd in July 2002 with Barry as the Managing Director.
Barry became a member of the Financial Planning Association in 1991, an Associate in 1992, attained the Diploma of Financial Planning in 1993 and became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 1995.
Barry aims to provide professional and personalised Financial Planning and builds long-term relationships with his clients.
Five young children occupy most of Barry’s spare time, otherwise he enjoys the occasional game of golf and supporting the Essendon Football Club.
After almost 10 years in the Banking and Finance Industry throughout Victoria, having specialised in Business and Rural finance, risk and investment, Brett Crabtree joined the group in 2001 and has an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning.
Brett has previously undertaken studies in Accounting and Finance, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Interests and pastimes include football and sport in general in addition to spending time with his young family.
Brett is a private client advisor and Authorised Representative of FAS, specialising in portfolio construction, wealth creation and asset accumulation.
Tracey Edwards has many years experience in the Financial Services Industry, having started with National Mutual in 1985, Tracey has also held senior roles with Noble Lowndes (now Mercer) and the Local Government Superannuation Board.
Tracey has achieved recognition as one of few advisors in Adelaide specialising in Corporate Superannuation, and holds a Diploma in Financial Planning. Tracey is a Certified Financial Planner and a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Tracey enjoys working with both employer groups assisting the employer with their obligations and the members with their choices, as well as individual financial planning clients.
Out of hours Tracey enjoys playing basketball, going to the gym and spending time with her husband and their five children.

After a career spanning some 13 years in the Computer Industry, John Neuling entered the Financial Planning profession in 1987. This was a natural extension of his technical skills, as well as his experience lecturing TAFE students in Business Studies.
Over the years, John has served a client base which includes a number of people retired or approaching retirement. His working knowledge of financial and regulatory principles equips him to design and monitor client portfolio’s.
John is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) and a Bachelor of Economics. He has been an active member of professional Associations serving the industry.

Renée Janssen, has been with Financial Advisory Services since May 2002.
Renée moved to South Australia in 1994 and spent 5 years running the office of a kitchen manufacturing company, focusing on client services.
She then successfully ran her own gift services business for 3 years with her husband, Colin, dealing with clients from all over the world.
Renée’s hobbies include cooking, playing netball and fishing and she and Colin have 2 girls. Oceane was born in March 2006 and Berlin was born in March 2008.
After 13 years as the Principal of FAS, Brian Nankivell (CFP retired), retreated from directly advising clients in 2004. However, he is still actively involved in FAS as Business Consultant – taking care of the financial and business operations of the firm itself, allowing other Directors and staff to focus on client issues.
Since Brian’s work is ‘behind the scenes’, he only attends the FAS office on occasions. With the extra time he now has available, Brian consults to a couple of other small businesses on financial and operational matters, continues his voluntary work with a range of ‘not-for-profit’ organizations, and still manages to enjoy golf, tennis and traveling with his wife Vera.

Our client services officer and youngest employee, Megan Watson, started with us in July 2006.
Megan was previously with a Barter business for 18 months and was looking for a role which was more challenging and a friendly environment and she has found that with us.
Her hobbies include fishing on her boat, watching the footy, playing netball and spending time with friends and family.


Our new employee, Scott McConville started with FAS in September 2009.
Scott is currently working in client services for FAS and studying for his Diploma in Financial Planning.
He keeps himself busy playing tennis, poker and watching footy. Scott also like to socialize with his friends and listen to music.
